A lot of people say; “Callum, I so look forward to your newsletters (they do!!), but it looks like you designed them yourself.” They might have a point. So as from next month look out for the completely re-branded ‘grown up’ version of the newsletter coming to an inbox near you.
But for this month, just focus on the content. It is all about blue skies, exotic cities and the future of mobile phones. Enjoy…

Thailand :
If you’re in Thailand then start planning your weekends to the islands, if you are out of Thailand then now is really the time to be here. For the next few months we have clear blue sky’s, cool breezes and perfect diving and snorkeling weather especially around Andaman sea.
If cities is more your thing then be sure to check out the next edition of Lifestyle + Travel magazine which is showcasing the best of Bangkok and Hong Kong amongst others.
Technology :
Hong Kong was the place to be last week if you were in anyway connected to the mobile world. Over 5,000 people descended to hear what was happening in the 3G world (or ‘ecosystem’ as the trendy people now call it!)
Good News: There are over 125 million people already using third generation phones in over 40 countries worldwide (although many are still in Japan and Korea).
Bad News: Apart from downloading music and watching the occasional video clip no one is quite sure why the masses will upgrade their phones, although ‘as a fashion accessory’ has been serving the industry well so far!
Worse News: The prevailing attitude amongst the powers that be is that mobile phone operators should control the flow of content. Not traditionally the most innovative of companies, this means that if a spotty teenager or small content company comes up with an innovative ‘killer application’ it could be several years, if at all, that we hear about it.
However, the video phone may be the saviour. Sales managers the world over will relish the opportunity to phone their remote sales staff and see exactly where they are. Golf courses could see a drop in profits!
Mobile Vision :
The ever upward spiral of MobySites continues to mean more content, more functionality and more exposure. This month we have added sites ranging from Spa’s to Language Schools and from tailors to fashion magazines. Many are already offering exclusive offers to MobySites readers and reaping the benefits.
As the party season really kicks in make sure you check it everyday for the best of what’s happening in Bangkok. Definitely look out for the XL entrepreneurs Xmas party on the 9 th of December.
As preparations continue for our next big service launch in February we must say another big thank you to the press here in Thailand who continue to find what we are doing so interesting. And one final congratulations to L+T Magazine who had their launch party down in Hua Hin yesterday. MobySites is proud to sponsor their Bangkok city guide.
