Spooky ain’t it? That’s right this is a Halloween newsletter. Although open to a bit of paganism from time to time we haven’t gone as far as the royal navy and hired a Satanist.
However, and some might argue this is worse than Satanism, some politics have snuck into this newsletter. Religion and Politics in one go! I would have been thrown out of my local pub back home. Normal service will return next month…

"Achoo, cluck"

The animals in the Kingdom of smiles haven’t had much to smile about this month. Bird flu continues to affect chickens, ducks and, sadly, over 40 native tigers have also suffered.

Life under the sea isn’t too much better either, with officials admitting that two thirds of the coral reef in Phuket has been destroyed by building work designed to accommodate the increase of tourists… who wanted to come and see the coral reef

Technology: Next month's 3G conference in HK

The topic on everybody’s techno lips is… well nothing much this month. Wi-fi in the hills of China is making tracking pandas easier. The recording industry says that their crackdown on file sharing is working a treat, while the file sharers claim that at any given moment 7 million(!) people are trading files for free around the world.

For some reason the website Georgewbush.com is blocking any requests from outside of the US, the Whitehouse is refusing to comment. Surely no one from overseas would be trying to hack it would they?

Perhaps a bigger issue is the new electronic voting toys. A U.S. district judge ruled Monday that Florida election officials have no legal obligation to provide voter-verifiable paper trails for electronic voting machines. And why would anyone want to verify the votes in that state anyway?

Audio Marketing

Congratulations go out to many of our clients this month:
JW Marriot used our SMS database services to great effect in the launch of their fantastic new Japanese restaurant Tsunami.
Bartercard are midway through a huge prolonged marketing and recruitment drive which is helping to keep them the talk of the town.

And once again Q Bar takes the star prize for innovation. As many bars and restaurants struggled to compete with each other for the ‘Halloween’ crowd, Q Bar took the party invitations to a whole new level. Using our latest product offer all of Q Bar’s guests received a pre-recorded phone call with a haunting invitation to their Halloween party. While anyone else (ourselves included) would have pulled together the advert in 10 minutes on our laptops, the DJ’s and MC’s of Q Bar booked an afternoon in the studio and set the bar high. We applaud them (and will have a copy of the invite on our website soon so you can listen to it!)

MobySites continues to go from strength to unbelievable strength. Members have increased 30% in one month and many many thanks to the following newspapers, magazines and radio stations which have been covering and contributing to the phenomenal growth. Matichon , Thansettakij, Shakers & Movers (always!) , Thailand Opportunities (again), DNA, Extreme, IT Communication FM100.5, IT Variety FM 96.5, and K.Supan at FM 95.5 & 105.

Finally Moby Sites was one of the official sponsors of Raja’s golf tournament. It was a fantastic event and our favorite golf coach, GolfThink’s Kim Inglis sunk a hole in one! We can’t guarantee that will happen to everyone who uses his MobySite golf coaching tips, but…
